The PCL, color laser, and Lexmark backends are currently unmaintained. I have installed OS X Mavericks on 3 different iMacs in my home. One had gutenprint drivers version 5.2.9 already installed. That computer is printing fine to my old HP LaserJet 6P. The other two computers had an older version of gutenprint (5.2.3 I believe). After installing Mavericks, those two computers no longer print to the HP printer - I get a 'Filter Failed' error. After searching a bit it appears the old gutenprint driver was deleted during the Mavericks installation. I downloaded the latest version gutenprint-5.2.9 but I am unable to install it. I get an error stating: 'Install Gutenprint 5.2.9.mpkg' can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

Can anyone tell me how to get the installation working in Mavericks?
